The officers from the Bloxwich and Blakenall neighbourhood teams have arrested five suspected shoplifters for a number of offences, with the majority of offences taking place at Reedswood Retail Park and shops on Bloxwich high street.

The arrests come as part of Operation Marigold, an operation across Walsall to tackle shoplifting, with neighbourhood officers working closely with local businesses to combat those crimes.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Our Bloxwich and Blakenall neighbourhood teams have been making great progress targeting prolific shoplifters.

"Over the last few weeks officers have arrested five suspected shoplifters for multiple offences, the vast majority of these offences being committed at Reedswood Retail Park and shops on Bloxwich high street."

Sergeant Richard Collins, neighbourhood policing supervisor, at Bloxwich said: “My team has been working hard to target a number of shoplifters that have been hitting the shops hard over the last few weeks.

"The team have worked with commitment and dedication to achieve convictions. We will continue to do this over the up and coming weeks.

"Let this be a warning, if you go to shop within our area we will arrest you and bring you before the courts.”
