A search has begun to find a hoax caller after emergency services were called to reports of a "casualty" at Bloxwich Railway Station

British Transport Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to reports of a casualty on the lines at Bloxwich on Tuesday evening at around 9.45pm.

An ambulance, two paramedic officers, two MERIT trauma doctors, a critical care paramedic, the trust’s Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car from Cosford had arrived at the scene alongside officers from British Transport Police to the area near Croxdene Avenue.

However, after a search of the area, no one was found and the incident was classified as a hoax, with British Transport Police now launching an investigation into the caller.

A spokeswoman for British Transport Police said: "We were called to Bloxwich station at 9.45pm on Tuesday, December 3 following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

"Officers attended along with paramedics, however no one was found and the incident was classified as a hoax."

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to a medical emergency at Bloxwich train station on Croxdene Avenue at around 9.45pm. 

"An ambulance, two paramedic officers, two MERIT trauma doctors, a critical care paramedic, the trust’s Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car from Cosford were sent to the scene. 

"Following a thorough search, no patient was found and we were stood down."
