The crash on the A458 Bridgnorth Bypass near Dudmaston occurred around 4pm, the Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said.

The SFRS sent three fire engines from Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock and Wellington

A spokesperson said the incident involved "two vehicles in a head-on collision" and crews administered oxygen and gave first aid at the scene.

"Police dealing with traffic management and fire crews have made vehicles electrically safe. Casualties are in the care of ambulance crews and being transported to hospital," the spokesperson added.

The AA reported queuing traffic and heavy delays as the road was closed in both directions during Wednesday rush hour.

Congestion was reported through Low Town in Bridgnorth and around the Stanmore Industrial Estate area.

West Mercia Police and the West Midlands Ambulance Service have been approached for more details.
