Man taken to hospital after being assaulted by group of men in Stafford

Police are asking for the public's help after a man was assaulted in Stafford.

Emergency services were called to Greengate Street in Stafford at about 4pm on Saturday following reports of violence. 

Three men had attacked another man before making off. 

The victim, a man in his 30s, suffered two wounds to his abdomen and chest. 

He was taken by ambulance to hospital for treatment, though his injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing. 

Officers are currently investigating the incident and the local policing team has increased patrols in the Stafford area to reassure the public. 

They are also reviewing CCTV footage in the area at the time of the attack but ask anyone with information to come forward.
