Jury retires to deliberate 26 charges of sexual abuse levelled at Albrighton actor

The jury in the trial of the Albrighton actor accused of sexually abusing children and teenage actresses are deliberating his innocence or guilt.

Alexander Westwood, 24, who appeared in the Netflix series Sex Education and a multitude of other roles, is charged with 26 separate charges against a boy, girl and aspiring actresses who he taught.

Charges include rape, assault by penetration of a girl under 13, exposing a child to pornography and touching the private areas of a girl under 13.

The seven men and five women have listened to four weeks of evidence including watching footage of the complainants being interviewed by police officers as well as giving evidence on the stand.

Westwood, of Holybush Lane, Albrighton, gave evidence in his defence and his parents also took to the stand to back his claims he has been wrongly accused.
