Mohammed Enam Hussain, 27, was part of a four strong hit squad, comprising of two men and two children, who lured a rival Palfrey drug dealer to Cobden Street, Walsall on May 4, 2021.
Hussain began the ambush by ramming a Honda into the dealers which wrecked their car and injured a pedestrian.
Then his gang leader Mohammed Rahman pulled up and fired a shotgun twice hitting one of the victims in head.
Hussain then set fire to his car before fleeing and not hanging around to see the blaze spread to another car and then properties on the road. No-one was injured in the fire which was down to "sheer luck that nobody died" according to prosecutor Richard Atkins.
After such a blatant and crude attack it did not take long for the police to identify the culprits and Hussain failed to escape pursuing police cars. Bailed and ordered to adhere to a curfew Hussain broke it 67 times and was remanded in custody.
Rahman, 32 of Appleton Avenue, Hamstead, was sentenced to 15 years in August along with the two youths jailed for 15 years between them. Hussain, however, was the last member of the gang to face justice as he dropped out of their trial due to mental health grounds.
Hussain, of Milton Street, Palfrey pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and arson and was found guilty of grievous bodily harm, attempted grievous bodily harm and possession of a firearm with intent to cause injury following a trial.
Hussain rammed their car injuring the addict and wrecking the dealers car as Rahman, 32 of Appleton Avenue, Hamstead, pulled up and fired a shotgun, one of the victims still has a pellet lodged in his head.
Hussain was sentenced to 14 years and six months at Stafford Crown Court last week.
