West Midlands Railway is joining other train companies in a national timetable change later this month.

The company says it is introducing additional services from Birmingham to Shrewsbury, departing at 6.26am, 7.26pm , 8.26pm and 9.26pm.

These services will operate Monday - Friday.

In the opposite direction, additional services will be departing at 6.59pm and 7.59pm from Shrewsbury to Birmingham operating Monday to Friday.

The company is also introducing an additional 10.23pm service from Birmingham to Shrewsbury on Saturdays.

West Midlands Railway is advising passengers to check their journey times ahead of the change.

This includes minor changes to calling patterns between Hereford and Birmingham.

Jonny Wiseman, customer experience director at West Midlands Railway, said: “Most changes will be the case of a few minutes either way, but those few minutes could be the difference between being on time or missing your train.

“All the new timetables are in in online journey planners, so I urge our customers to please check their travel times before heading to the station.”

The new timetables are available to view at www.wmr.uk/dec24.
