The office in Copthall House, in New Road, is the new home of Stourbridge & Lye neighbourhood policing teams and around 60 officers are set to move into the premises near Stourbridge ring road in the next few months, including response officers who will attend 999 call-outs.

But the site in Stourbridge is not open to the public and does not have a contact office for residents to report crimes and get advice. Officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) will be based there, but members of the public will have to continue to submit reports through the West Midlands Police website or telephone 101 in the case of non-urgent matters.

The hub was opened by West Midlands Police & Crime Commissioner Simon Foster and Dudley borough’s police commander Chief Superintendent Anthony Tagg.

Ch Supt Tagg said: “I’m really pleased with the new facilities and it’s great to finally see them in person, now that the works are complete. While our officers never truly left Stourbridge, it’s been some time since we’ve had a base in the town. I know that was important to people – including hardworking cops themselves. That’s why we’ve honoured our pledge to have a base in the town by opening this site.
