Crowds flocked to the town centre on Saturday (November 30) evening to mark the start of the Christmas season.
Emmerdale's Danny Miller, who plays Aaron Dingle and also won I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2021, helped spread the festive cheer and meet soap drama fans at the event.
He was joined by the Mayor of Sandwell, Councillor Syeda Khatun, alongside BBC WM breakfast show presenters Sarah Julian and PJ, who performed the official switch-on at 6.15pm in Market Place.
There were a number of stalls selling Christmas gifts, fairground rides for the youngsters, and entertainment from performers including singer David Lane.
And the Emmerdale actor wasn't the only star in attendance, as Santa Claus also made an appearance to check who had been 'naughty or nice'.

A host of other switch-on events have taken place in the Black Country to mark the festive season, including in Wolverhampton city centre earlier in November.
