These flavoured strips have already netted a fanbase among footballers,  from the Premiership down the leagues, replacing Snus and vapes as the go-to nicotine fix in locker rooms across the UK.

With over 40 per cent of football League players reportedly hooked on Snus - pouches that sit in the mouth for 20 minutes, releasing nicotine through the gums, which can also lead to gum and teeth problems - Jolt strips promise a lightning-fast alternative without the unsightly effects on oral health.

Dissolving instantly on the tongue, these flavoured strips deliver an immediate nicotine hit without the lingering health concerns or unsightly litter associated with cigarettes, vapes, or Snus. The rise of nicotine use in football shocked fans earlier this year when podcasts like The Fozcast revealed the trend, when former West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Ben Foster, who said: “Jesper Olson at West Brom loved his Snus, now I reckon 40/50 percent of players are doing it.”

Once a Scandinavian import, Snus has taken UK football by storm, but its presence has left older professionals unimpressed.

“You see pouches on changing room floors and training ground corridors,” said ex-Birmingham and WBA star Paul Robinson.

“It’s not a good look - players can’t even be bothered to bin them.”

The Jolt strips, which £5 packs of 20 x 2mg strips are now selling fast.

Co-owner Jason McNally revealed:  “We sent sample packs to agents and we’ve been besieged with orders ever since.

“Jolt is the quickest and safest way to take nicotine,”

McNally added: “ Our feedback is that consumers prefer Jolt to pouches, smoking and vaping as well as reducing the litter problem of snus and disposable vapes.

"The company is based in Liverpool and employs 50 people after setting up a manufacturing base.Jason said: "And we’re proud it’s a British-manufactured product driving both innovation and the economy.”

Jolt nicotine strips are set to dominate not just changing rooms but nicotine markets worldwide, ushering in a new era of cleaner, faster fixes.

A 23-year-old championship player, who hails from the Black Country, said: "Though nicotine is legal, and therefore not tested when we have our drug tests after all the publicity about snus managers and coaches know about it now."I've seen younger players told to spit the pouches out.

These strips are safer to use because they disolve  and they release so much quicker. We are supposed to be role models so a fraction of us smoke these days, and it was not fair complaining about snus, it is legal but squads are so competitive anything that can be kept secret is perfect."
