Two suspected shoplifters charged with several thefts in Dudley

Two suspected shoplifters have been charged in relation to 10 shop thefts committed in and around Dudley in October and November.

Two people have been charged with several thefts from shops across Dudley borough over the last couple of months.

Mohammed Adil and Chelsea Davies were both arrested and charged with shop thefts in Brierley Hill, Pensnett and Dudley, with 10 offences in total having taken place across October and November.

Adil, 24, of Adelaide Street in Brierley Hill, was charged with six shop thefts in Pensnett and Brierley Hill, with stores targeted and hundreds of pounds-worth of household products stolen, while Davies, 31, of no fixed address, was charged with four shop thefts in Dudley and Brierley Hill, with two stores targeted.

The pair were remanded into custody and were scheduled to appear at Walsall Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning. No details are yet available of their appearance at court.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Two suspected shoplifters have been charged with several thefts in Brierley Hill, Pensnett and Dudley.

"Mohammed Adil, aged 24 from Brierley Hill has been charged with six shop thefts in Pensnett and Brierley Hill in October and November.

"Two stores were targeted and household products totalling hundreds of pounds were stolen.

"Chelsea Davies, aged 31 of no fixed address has been charged with four shop thefts in Dudley and Brierley Hill in October and November.

"Again, two stores were targeted. They have both been remanded in custody to appear at Walsall Magistrates Court this morning (27 November).

"Shoplifting is a priority for us in Dudley Local Policing Area and we are committed to pursuing any repeat offenders which are causing harm to the businesses and customers.
