There have been fast-flowing currents on the River Severn and the increased presence of water flooding onto play areas, park land, car parks and walkways.
The Government Floodline website said today (Wednesday) that river levels in Bewdley had reached around 4.12 metres, with property flooding possible as a result.
And there has been a mixture of acceptance and nervousness at the situation among residents and traders in Bewdley and Stourport, with many claiming to have developed a resilience against the threat of flooding.
Bewdley has suffered from severe flooding over the last few years, with Beales Corner particularly susceptible to flooding due to its location at the side of the river, and it had been left particularly vulnerable to flooding at the present time due to the flood barriers not being deployed due to the construction of the Flood Risk Management Scheme.
One resident who said he was used to seeing flooding was Mick Buxton.
The 71-year-old said he had got all the necessary provisions and defences ready to tackle any flooding on Beales Corner, but said he felt more relaxed about the current state of the river levels due to the work already done at Beales Corner.
He said: "At the moment, I'm feeling quite happy about the way the river levels are, as well as the work the guys are doing to construct the flood defences.
"I know that if the area flooded, there's still a chance we would be affected, but they've done a good job so far and it would hold a lot back.
