Man charged with series of offences across Black Country and Birmingham

A man has been charged with nearly 20 offences, including burglary, vehicle crime and shop thefts.

A man has been arrested and charged with a series of offences committed across the Black Country and Birmingham.

Leslie Lloyd was arrested in Wednesbury by members of the Wednesbury Neighbourhood Team and charged with 18 offences committed in Sandwell, Dudley and Birmingham.

The charges include 11 shop thefts committed between September and November, burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, disqualified driving, handling stolen goods and theft from a vehicle.

Lloyd, 50, of no fixed address, was remanded into custody to appear at Walsall Magistrates Court on Wednesday. No details are yet available of Lloyd's appearance at court.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We've charged a man with a series of offences including burglary, vehicle crime and shops thefts.

"Officers from the Wednesbury neighbourhood team acted on information and detained Leslie Lloyd over a range of crimes in Sandwell, Dudley and Birmingham.

"He has now been charged with 18 offences, with 11 relating to shop thefts, between September and November.

"Others include burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, disqualified driving, handling stolen goods and theft from a vehicle.

"The 50-year-old, of no fixed address, has been remanded to appear before Walsall Magistrates Court today (27 November)."
