When people shout up about how good a place is for the food and the people behind it, you have to see if it's worth the hype.

As part of the National World Food and Drink month, we ran a poll to find out what the favourite places to eat were for people across the region.

When it came to the most popular café, there was a clear winner, one place that was the leader of the pack and deemed the best for the warm welcome it gives, the great food it provides and the sense of community it brings.

That place is Brunch at Blondies on Lucknow Road in Willenhall, with people answering the social media with praise for its great food, for the friendly and warm welcome from the staff and generally being a place that is worth visiting.

Almost sounds too good to be true, doesn't it? When you hear all these good sentiments, it makes you want to go there, try it out and see if the hype matches the actual event, so I took a trip down to the Precinct in Willenhall where the café is based to sample the wares and gauge the welcome.

Located on the corner of the Precinct, the café is not hard to spot with signs outside and a familiar smell of sizzling bacon and sausages emanating from the windows, which filled me with a warm feeling already.

Pass through the front door and you're met with a colourful counter, with the easy-on-the-eye blue and white logo of the café visible there as well as on the mugs that customers were enjoying a hot tea or coffee from.
