Although the weather has been drier today, flood warnings remained in place in some parts and many people were still dealing with the fallout of torrential rain and flooding which hit much of Staffordshire, the Black Country and the West Midlands at the weekend.

Services from Northampton to Birmingham were also hit, with a number of staff stranded at the former this morning.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Trains said: "Services from Rugeley Trent Valley are impacted by reduced fleet availability due to flooding. Ticket acceptance has been organised with Avanti."
