There were long queues and excited faces as a different type of Christmas attraction came to Wolverhampton city centre to hail the start of the festive season.
The Lidl Freeway Cola Truck was a popular attraction for shoppers on Saturday, with queues seen stretching up to the top of Victoria Street and plenty of families and friends eager to see the lorry and give their Christmas wishes.
Despite wet and windy conditions, the feeling on Victoria Street was a festive and fun one, with staff members for Lidl on hand to give out festive food and cans of the Freeway Cola.
The first 250 visitors to the Truck were also given a present box with items from the famous Middle Aisle of Lidl, while 25 lucky people also discovered a golden ticket in their box which gave then a £100 gift voucher for Lidl.
The Truck was in Wolverhampton as part of a national tour by the supermarket chain where the popular Freeway drink was represented by transforming it into a 15 tonne, 20 metre long and 5 metre Truck with a Freeway label wrapped cylindrical body and life-like pull-ring back hatch.
Event manager Rachel Lingham had signalled the start of the event by sounding the 130 decibel horn and spoke about what people could expect from the day.
