Drivers reported and car seized as part of police action in South Staffordshire

Motorists were charged with traffic offences and a car was seized during a night of action by police officers in South Staffordshire.

It was a busy evening for police officers across South Staffordshire, with a number of people charged with traffic offences and at least one car seized.

The action by the Neighbourhood Policing Team from South Staffordshire Police saw patrols taking place in Penkridge and Himley throughout Friday evening.

A number of cars were stopped in the two areas and searches conducted under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.

It saw a number of the motorists stopped reported for traffic offences and also saw one vehicle seized.

A spokesman for South Staffordshire Police said: "The South Staffs Police Neighbourhood Policing Team were out this evening in Penkridge and Himley, respectively. 

"Searches under Section 23 of the Misuse Of Drugs Act were carried out and a number of motorists reported for traffic offences, resulting in one vehicle being seized."
