Lions total up another roaring successful year

A Lions group has been totting up its donations and money raised this year, following another successful year.

Along with the town's popular walk, Bridgnorth Lions host a series of events in the town along with numerous fundraising activities.

The men's group exists to help those in the community and is part of the global Lions Club International.

The 2024 Bridgnorth Walk on its own, raised more than £95,000 for charity, but the organisation has also donated thousands of pounds worth of items to good causes in 2024.

Among the donations made by the Bridgnorth Lions this year include £300 to go towards the Bridgnorth Dementia Day later this week on November 22.

Bridgnorth Junior Hockey Club were awarded a grant of £650, Eardington Nature Reserve have installed a bench bought by the Lions, around £600 worth of board games and children's activities were donated to the The Telford Xmas Smile appeal, some of which will be distributed around Bridgnorth.

The group has also provided LED lighting to Northgate Museum in the town, and Worfield PTA have been helped replace their aging laptops at the school.

New charity Feed The Birds have also received £250 from the Lions.

Howard Davies from the Lions said: “There will be more donations to follow as the year progresses bit it has been anther successful year for the Lions.

“It is always nice for our supporters to hear where all the money goes.”
