Met Office issues yellow weather warning for ice across the West Midlands

Another weather warning has been put in place for the West Midlands until Thursday.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice across the region, affecting parts of the Black Country.

So far, snowy conditions have closed schools and halted transport services. Fresh weather warnings were issued amid widespread travel disruption.

The most recent update says that  Icy stretches will lead to some difficult travelling conditions. 

It says there will probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths. Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces are possible

Temperatures in Wolverhampton and surrounding areas will plummet to zero degrees overnight.
