We celebrate the cafes, takeaways and restaurants of the West Midlands recognised on the Good Food Awards list

The best of the best for food have been acknowledged by the industry leader for celebrating culinary excellence.

The award winners in the Good Food Awards 2024 were announced on November 7.

Recognising independent restaurants and food venues, the Good Food Awards have been running since 2002, celebrating “those who strive for culinary excellence within their field”.

The awards, which cover everything from bistros, cafés, gastro pubs, restaurants, takeaways, chippies and hotels, are based entirely on merit, free to enter, and voted for by the public.

By using customer feedback/online reviews/nominations/votes, The Good Food Awards aims to reflect ‘genuine dining experiences.’

Across the West Midlands and Shropshire, nine cafes, restaurants and takeaways have been recognised by the awards, spread from Shrewsbury to Lichfield.

Here are the winners from our region and the category they were awarded in.

Cafes

The Tile Press Cafe in Jackfield: 2024/25 Good Food Award winner – Blue Ribbon

The Tile Press is set in the historic restored Maws & Company tile works building, which is, today, an Artisan Village on the outskirts of Telford.

The Visit Telford website describes the cafe as: "A popular little haven for visitors and locals on their visit to the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge Gorge. 

"Our stunning courtyard cafe is perfect for spring and summer dining while our indoor Garden Room is a great place to just relax and unwind with a coffee, cake or bake. 

"We are passionate about great food at The Tile Press and offer a full vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free menu.

"Whether you are visiting us for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea you will find great dishes with a Mediterranean twist and yummy cakes and bakes that are homemade all served up by a friendly and welcoming team."
