The coffee giant welcomed the first customers into the new store on the town's High Street on Thursday (November 14).

The store has opened in a former Halifax bank, which closed its doors in January.

Signage including the iconic Starbucks logo was spotted on the exterior of the site last month as work was underway to create the new coffee shop.

What does the new store offer?

Customers can browse the hot and cold drinks available on a simplified menu, as well as choose from a number of pastries and other sweet treats.

It also offers a service whereby visitors can book a space to sit for up to three hours in advance of their visit - and even order food and beverages to their table.

Shawn Devonport, regional operations manager at the coffee chain, said: "We are delighted to open our new store in Stourbridge and are proud to offer an exciting new bookable space for the local community to use and make our space their own.

"This opening reflects Starbucks' commitment to creating welcoming, community coffee houses where people can gather and connect over a delicious cup of handcrafted coffee served by our talented baristas."

Starbucks said it has teamed up with several local charities upon the opening of the new store and is donating the profits made on the opening day to Dudley Group NHS Charity, based at Russells Hall Hospital.

The coffee shop will open from 7am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, from 7am to 6pm on Saturdays and 9am to 5pm on Sundays.

Customers who want to use the bookable table service must be 18 or over and can do so by speaking to a member of staff.
