Disqualified Dudley driver due to appear in court charged with driving cloned van

A 47-year-old man who was caught driving while disqualified and using a car without insurance is due to appear in court

Phillip Billingham, 47, from Vicar Street, Dudley, was arrested in Brierley Hill, Dudley, on November 11, after officers spotted a cloned Luton van being driven in the area. 

Officers following the van to a dead end, where the driver escaped into a woodland area. However, officers quickly arrested the 47-year-old on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle. 

Further checks also revealed that Phillip was driving while disqualified and without third party insurance. 

Phillip was remanded into custody until his next scheduled court hearing at Walsall Magstrates court on November 19. 

In an update today, West Midlands Police said: "Phillip Billingham, aged 47, from Vicar Street, Dudley, has been charged with driving while disqualified and using a vehicle without insurance. 

"He has been remanded in custody until his next scheduled court hearing at Walsall Magistrates Court on 19 November."
