Walsall Council recruits for three senior bosses earning up to £104k each

A recruitment drive at Walsall Council is searching for three new senior bosses to be paid up to £104k each.

The authority is looking for ‘inspirational leaders’ to become directors for three major departments. 

The roles advertised are director of adult social care, director of children’s social work and director of public health. The salary for all three posts range from £91,004 to £104,701.

The new recruits will report to executive directors Kerrie Allward and Colleen Male, who taxpayers pay £120,000 to £145,000 each for their services, according to the council’s senior salary data. 

Key responsibilities for the director of adult social care will be improving the services for vulnerable adults across Walsall

It will involve working closely with health and community partners in delivering services, plus managing budgets and resources.

For the director of public health, they will be tasked with improving the health and wellbeing of Walsall residents and addressing health inequalities. 

And finally, the children’s social work director will be responsible for improving outcomes for children and ensuring the department complies with regulation and legislation requirements.
