Blue and white police tape was seen close to shop units at the junction with Kingsland Road, which is near a busy route used by Wolves fans on the way to and from Molineux matches, as police carried out enquiries on Friday and Saturday.

Witnesses or anyone with information about the incident should contact detectives via the force website and by phoning 101 quoting log number 4215 of November 8.

Ramandeep Kaur, 24, told the Express & Star police officers were seen carrying out enquiries in the area.

She said: "I wasn't at home at the time but we're aware there was an incident. The police came around and spoke to my husband on Saturday morning but we don't really know what's happened."

One shopkeeper in the area said police officers had asked for CCTV footage.
