'He has served us a life sentence from which there is no end' - Father of tragic teen killed by dangerous driver in Oldbury speaks out

The father of one of the tragic teenagers killed when a driver ploughed into a group of pedestrians at a car meet in Oldbury has spoken of the emptiness of his family's life without  his son.

Speaking outside Wolverhampton Crown Court after driver Dhiya Al Maamoury was jailed for thirteen and a half years, Damian Corfield said Ben, aged 19 when he died in November two years ago, was the 'very foundation the family lived for'.

Holding onto his wife Lynette and daughter Shannon he slammed Al Maamoury for his 'brazen' actions and said he had lied at the first instance and entered a not guilty plea.

He said: "He has stolen our future and served us all a life sentence from which there is no end. The impact this has had on me, my wife and daughter cannot really be put into words, it feels like there is very little left to live for.
