Emergency services rushed to the scene of the M5, between junction one and junction two (Oldbury), following a crash just before 3pm on Wednesday night.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a critical care paramedic to the scene.

On arrival, emergency services discovered three vehicles, all of which had been involved in the crash, as well as three patients.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: " We were called to reports of an RTC on the M5 Southbound near junction 2 in Oldbury at 2.54pm.

"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and critical care paramedic were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews found three cars had been involved in a collision."

One man was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being conveyed to the Midlands Metropolitan University Hospital.

Two other men were also treated for injuries not believed to be serious, but neither wished to go to hospital.

The spokesperson continued: "One man was treated for injuries not believed to be serious and conveyed to Midlands Metropolitan University Hospital for further treatment.

"Two other men were also treated for injuries not believed to be serious but neither wished to go to hospital and so were given self-care advice and discharged at the scene."

The section of the road was reopened at 5pm on the same day, however, delays of around 20 minutes remained as congestion eased.
