Shoppers at Walsall's popular Primark branch can now order their goods online and collect them at the town centre store in time for Christmas.

It is among 92 stores in the chain to have a popular click-and-collect service. The branch in Digbeth near Walsall Market opened nine years ago as part of a £21 million revamp of the Old Square Shopping Centre following the relocation of Tesco.

Almost 800 excited shoppers queued outside to be the among the first to go through the doors on August 6, 2015.

Primark's retail director Kari Rodgers said: “Our Click & Collect service has proved really popular, so we’re excited to roll it out even further.

“It means shoppers can easily order their items from home and pick them up at a time to suit them, and is a great way to make Christmas shopping a little easier this year.”

There are also branches in Wulfrun Centre, in Wolverhampton; New Square in West Bromwich; Merry Hill Shopping Centre, in Brierley Hill;  Telford; Shrewsbury and in Birmingham's High Street and The Fort Shopping Centre.

This year, Primark is celebrating 50 years on the high street. It opened its first store in Derby in September 1974 and now has 185 stores across Great Britain.
