Woman taken to hospital after Walsall crash which left building 'damaged'

A woman was taken to hospital hurt and a building was damaged after a crash in Walsall.

Ambulance crews were called by police to the scene of the collision on Ablewell Street, near to the town centre, at around 8.27am on Monday (November 4).

A woman, said to be the driver of a vehicle involved in the incident, was taken to hospital with an injury which was not thought to be serious.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "An ambulance attended the scene.

"The driver of the car, a woman, was treated on scene for an injury not believed to be serious before being taken to Walsall Manor Hospital. A passenger, a man, was discharged on scene."

West Midlands Police has appealed for anyone with information about the crash to come forward.

A force spokeswoman said: "We were called to Ablewell Street, Walsall at around 8.20 am this morning (November 4) to a collision involving two vehicles. 

"...A woman in her 20s, the driver of one of the vehicles, was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening.

"Minor damage was also caused to a building. Anyone with any information is asked to contact us via Live Chat on our website or call 101 quoting 732 of November 4."

Bus services were disrupted on Monday morning as a result of the collision.

Writing to X, formerly Twitter, just before 9am, National Express West Midlands warned passengers of diversions.

The regional bus company wrote: "Service Disruption. Due to a collision at Ablewell Street, Walsall, 51, 77/A, 788, 934 and 935 are diverting in both directions via Sutton Road and Broadway. We apologise for any disruption to your journey."

It issued an update to passengers at around 9.15am to say services had resumed their normal line of route.
