The Knife Angel is set to remain on the Civic Square in Oldbury opposite Sandwell Council House throughout November.

The statue was originally meant to be in Sandwell throughout October before being moved on to a new location, but it was announced by Sandwell Council on social media that the statue would remain for another month.

A spokesman for Sandwell Council said: "The Knife Angel is staying with us in Sandwell for an extra month.

"We know so many of you have visited this powerful sculpture in Oldbury Civic Square, so you have another month to see it in person if you haven’t already."

The statue is 27-feet tall and weighs 3.5 tons and is comprised of 100,000 blunted knives received from 43 police forces across the UK.

The Angel arrived in Sandwell as part of its national tour, having toured many UK towns and cities since November 2018, and will be in residence on Oldbury Civic Square throughout November.
