Driver charged and car seized after being stopped by police on motorway near Stafford

A driver was left without their vehicle after it was seized by police following a speeding stoppage on the M6.

Officers from Staffordshire Police stopped the white BMW on the M6 near Stafford after it was spotted speeding excessively.

After being stopped, the force said the driver tried to provide false details, but was eventually forced to provide his real identity by officers at the scene.

The driver was found to be uninsured and the car was subsequently seized.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "This BMW was stopped on the M6 near Stafford due to excess speed.

"The driver tried providing false details.

"However, our officers are not easily fooled and his true identity was eventually confirmed. 

"Driver was uninsured and vehicle seized."
