Not satisfied with being a member of 1980's chart toppers The Communards, the Rev'd Richard Cole is a familiar figure from TV and radio.

But the keyboardist turned clergyman has another string to his bow – penning crime fiction.

Signing copies of his new novella: Murder Under The Mistletoe, the Rev'd Coles was at Booka Bridgnorth last week.

His murder mystery is set on Christmas Day at a rectory, where Canon Daniel Clement and his mother Audrey are joined by the residents and guests of the big house to drink, eat and be merry. Until one of them falls down dead.

Daniel and Detective Sergeant Neil Vanloo attempt to solve the crime and catch the Christmas killer.

The author was at Booka in the High Street on Wednesday, October 23 thanks to an invite by co-owner Carrie Morris, and spent an hour signing copies of his novella to the delight of Bridgnorth bookworms.
