All lanes are now open after the four-vehicle crash involving a lorry closed the link at junction eight for Birmingham and West Bromwich caused hour-long delays at around 8am on Wednesday.
A separate accident at around the same time caused delays on the M54 travelling east, just past Ketley Junction and before Telford Central.
Meanwhile, another crash happened between two lorries on the M6 between junctions 10 and 10a later on in the morning.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 10.53am to a road traffic collision involving two HGV’s on the M6 between junctions 10 and 10a in Willenhall.
"Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene.
"Upon arrival we found a man who was the driver of one of the HGVs. He was assessed and had sustained non-life threatening injuries. He received treatment from ambulance staff at the scene before being conveyed to New Cross Hospital for further assessment.”
