Wolverhampton's new Metro Bank ready for opening day
Scaffolding outside Wolverhampton's new Metro Bank has finally come down ahead of its opening.
Hoardings have also been removed in preparation for the official unveiling tomorrow when several civic dignitaries are due to attend.
The branch at the junction of Dudley Street and Queen Street, a former phone shop, will open its doors at 8am.
The company is hosting a two-day "grand opening party" featuring stilt walkers, a DJ, free manicures and face painting.
West Midlands Mayor Andy Street and Wolverhampton Mayor Councillor Claire Darke will cut the ribbon at the event.
Its being opened as part of Metro Bank's expanding operations in this country. It has promised a “revolution in British banking”.
The bank, which launched in 2010 is a familiar site on high streets in London, also has a drive-through branch in Merry Hill which opened for business recently allowing customers to carry out transactions without having to unbuckle their seat belt.
Open seven days a week, it also a offers a walk-in service with no appointments needed.
There is a city centre branch in Birmingham.
Metro Bank founder Vernon Hill stepped down as chairman in the autumn following a difficult trading year after it revealed a £900 million accounting blunder.
