Cool but dry weather helps New Year celebrations go with a bang
It will be the perfect weather for a New Year’s Eve party tonight – and for a head-clearing walk tomorrow.
The weather is set to be cloudy, chilly but dry as revellers celebrate with fireworks across the Black Country and Staffordshire.
Fireworks are set to go off across the area at midnight, including organised events such as at Moddershall Oaks Country Spa Retreat in Stone and West Midland Safari Park in Kidderminster.

The Met Office says there is only an outside chance of light drizzle, with a maximum temperature a relatively mild 8C (46F) today, dropping to 3C (37F) as we move into 2020.
Thick fog which shrouded much of the UK faded by Tuesday morning, as the Met Office predicts a cool but clear evening for New Year's Eve celebrations.
Revellers will need to wrap up warm as they head out to ring in 2020, with Tuesday set to be a colder day for the whole country.
Met Office meteorologist Luke Miall said weather warnings for thick fog which were in place on Monday would be lifted by Tuesday morning.
He said: "For people travelling to work on Tuesday, it's not looking too bad really."
He added that a cold front would be moving in following a weekend of balmy weekend - which saw temperatures reach 16.3C in the north of Scotland, a new UK record for so late in December.
"Monday was the last of the milder days, we've got a cold front sinking south west, and it's staying grey and murky throughout the day tomorrow," he said.
"For the start of the New Year's Eve celebrations, most of the country will be dry."
He added: "It's going to be getting cooler across much of Scotland and the eastern counties of England.
"It's looking like it's going to be pretty frosty across these parts, whereas in southern and western England it's looking cloudy."
Northycote Farm in Wolverhampton is among outdoor attractions expecting crowds tomorrow as people seek fresh air after seeing the new year in.
The first day of 2020 is expected to be cloudy but bright with a few sunny spells.
The recent mild spell across the West Midlands has come courtesy of warm air coming from Africa.
It has led to unseasonably mild weather, with double digit temperatures in many parts of our region at times.
The trend is set to continue well into next week, with no frosts at night either.
