More than 10,000 items have been collected so far but we want to help as many individuals and families as possible during the festive season.

Our supermarket drop-off points are open this weekend for any last-minute donations, which will be shared between five good causes helping struggling families and the homeless.

One organisation which has been supporting our appeal is The Saleem Foundation, based in Dudley and has handed over hundreds of items to the Black Country Food Bank as part of the appeal.

“I think it’s a fantastic initiative and the beauty is people are helping those who we have never met, and that’s how it should be done, no other motive other than the fact we care,” says founder Shaz Saleem.

We are collecting donations of food until the end of Sunday to provide families with Christmas treats they would otherwise not be able to afford, as well as store cupboard essentials.

Donations can be taken to:

  • Waitrose Wolverhampton, Marston Road, Wolverhampton WV2 4NJ

  • Morrisons Bilston, Black Country Route, Bilston WV14 0DZ

  • Tesco Heath Hayes, Hawks Green District Centre, Hayes Way, Cannock WS12 3YY
