Police close investigation over death of woman in Hednesford
The death of a woman found in the road with serious injuries in Hednesford is not being treated as suspicious, say police.
Grandmother Tracey Bratby, aged 55, was found yards from her home in Belt Road, High Town, in the early hours of Saturday.
Police initially said it was not known how she came by her injuries.
Her family believed she may have been the victim of a hit-and-run collision.
Mrs Bratby was found injured at 3.40am on Saturday and was treated by ambulance staff before being transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham where she died the following day.
Police appealed for CCTV and dash-cam footage to help them in their inquiries. The mother-of-three's family also asked for the public's help in the investigation.
But detectives have now closed their investigations and handed the case over to the South Staffordshire coroner.
Staffordshire Police said in a statement: "Following a police investigation, Tracey’s death is not believed to be suspicious."
