Heavy rain on way to the West Midlands as weather warnings issued
Heavy rain and thunderstorms will arrive in the West Midlands as weather warnings were issued for the region.
A yellow warning has been put in place by the Met Office, warning of disruption leading up to the weekend.
A band of heavy ran will be followed by showers and thunderstorms, with drivers warned roads could be flooded and closed when the bad weather hits on Friday and Saturday.

WATCH: Latest weather forecast
A spokesman for the Met Office said: "Heavy rain and strong winds pushing are northwards early on Friday, with scattered thundery showers thereafter.
"It will be windy with thundery showers on Saturday. and less windy with fewer showers by Sunday."
Today will remain largely dry, bright and sunny, across the Black Country with some showers expected.
Tomorrow will be mostly dry, with plenty of sunshine expected – although showers are still possible.
Winds will be light, but clouds will bring wet and windy weather overnight.
It comes after the Boardmasters music festival was cancelled by organisers over the predicted weather conditions.
The three-day event, due to be headlined by the Wu-Tang Clan, Florence And The Machine and Foals, was going to take place in Cornwall this weekend.
And Walsall's own Brit Award winner Jorja Smith was also due to perform at the Newquay festival.
But organisers said the decision to cancel the event was made after speaking with police and independent safety advisers.
The statement said: “The safety of you, the fans and attendees, as well as performers and crew comes first, and the potential risk is too severe for the event to go ahead at this time.”
Refund information will be shared “as soon as possible”, organisers said.
