House fire sparked by abandoned cooking
A late-night blaze which broke out while residents were inside was ignited by abandoned cooking materials.
Smoke alarms alerted residents to the fire, which flared up within a home in Stafford's Caldervale Drive.
Firefighters discovered the blaze was started by cooking materials being left unattended.
Crews from Stafford and Cannock managed to tackle the small fire within 30 minutes after two firefighters put out the flames with a hose reel jet.
They were called out just after 11.50pm on Tuesday when residents inside the property heard the smoke alarm go off.
No one was injured in the fire, which was put out just after 12.20am.
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman Gillian Hudson said: "Two firefighters in breathing apparatus using a hose reel jet extinguished the fire, which was located in a converted garage and caused by cooking materials."
