Prom students celebrate in style
This year's prom season has gone off with a bang as students across the Black Country and Staffordshire celebrated the end of the school year.
From horse and carriages to vintage campervans and sports cars they arrived at their party venues in style.
It's clear to see that this summer youngsters have gone all out once again to get glammed up to ensure they make it a night to remember.
Among those making an entrance was 16-year-old Lewis Chadbund-Walker from Staffordshire University Acamedy who's dream came true when he travelled to his school prom at The Moat House Hotel, Acton Trussell in a Delorean.
Also standing out from the crowd were Luke Malpass,aged 15, and Joe Hollis, 16, from Ellowes Hall Sports College, who arrived at the Ramada Park Hall Hotel in Wolverhampton in an original vintage American Willys Jeep.
Elsewhere Darlaston students stunned well-wishers with a dazzling display of glamorous evening dresses and sophisticated style.
Held at the Village Hotel in Walsall, the Year 11 party-goers from Grace Academy Darlaston enjoyed a final get together over dinner, and then danced the night away to celebrate the end of their exams.
Head boy Callum Nock said: “It’s sad to be leaving, but an amazing night to finish this year with.”
Alex Mullen-Jones, Head of Year 11 at Grace Academy Darlaston, said: “There has been a great buzz and excitement after all the hard work during the year, and it’s great to celebrate with them and for staff to give them a good send-off. We fully expect all their efforts to pay off on results day, and we look forward to seeing many of them back with us in sixth form in September.”
Meanwhile Wolgarston High School held its annual Year 11 Leaver’s Prom at The Moat House in Acton Trussell.
Student Shannon Muggleton said: “It was a really amazing evening, I had, in fact we all had,so much fun.It is something that all of us will never forget, it has been brilliant.”
Parents and other students arrived at The Moat House 6pm to see the students making their entrances. This year there was a variety of different transportation used ranging from Porches, Ferraris and Lamborghinis to VW camper vans and motorbikes.
All of the students attending proms have taken the time to find the perfect outfit, best jewellery and, of course, comfortable dance shoes.
And to ensure they capture the moment forever, they have gathered for photographs outside their party venues and by their chosen transport showing off their formal wear chosen especially for the event.
Proud parents have also taken pictures on cameras and smart phones of their children dressed up for their special evenings.
