One family even said it was the highlight of their holiday after taking in all the sights.

Dubai Wolves was formed in 2009 by David Kirkland, aged 37, and Stuart Kriskinans, 55, after Wolves went to the Premier League last time.

It regularly has more than 20 expatriates watch each game from their local pub called the Barrel12 on the Palm Jumeirah island in the city.

David, originally from Northampton, said: "We had a family of four here over Easter and they joined us for both the Cardiff and Derby games.

"The dad said he had done 'all the sights and spent a ton of money and had a great time in Dubai. But his and his boy's highlight of the holiday was coming to Barrel12 to watch the games with us.

"To be honest with you, to hear that was one of the best things for me me this season.

"I am proud to see new faces - and we make everyone feel welcome."

There is also an Aston Villa supporters group out there called Dubai Lions and they joined Dubai Wolves to watch the Wolves and Aston Villa game earlier this season.

"I've managed to pull in some other supporters clubs to watch with us," said David.

"Most notably Dubai Lions. They bought their supports to the pub for the home fixture and we reciprocated for the away leg.

"A good friendly gathering of more than 40 fans and great banter. They'll be missed next season."

Asked for his thoughts on this campaign, David said: "This season has been a revelation.

"Despite being so far from Molineux we've really felt part of it largely thanks to WolvesTV. It is because of this that we have managed to get a regular group on average.

"Our pub is called Barrel12 on the Palm Jumeirah. Somewhere where we would watch in sheer amazement - in disbelief mostly that this was Wolves."

He added: "Plenty of us go back to watch the games. Stuart was luck enough to see the Neves goal, all be it from the North Bank."

In Spain, one Wolves supporter has had a Wolves logo installed on the bottom of his swimming pool.

The work was done by Mike Heighway and features a mosaic of black tiles which have formed the Wolves logo.

Fellow Wolves fan Philip Barnard, 47 from Wolverhampton, was snapped at the top of Mount Etna, an active volcano, in Sicily when Wolves were promoted.

He was pictured in his retro Wolves shirt from a previous season.

American-based Wolves fan David Koppe, who lives just outside new York, has old newspaper cuttings of the Sporting Star from Wolves' past achievements in previous seasons.

Asked about his thoughts this season, he said: "The smile hasn’t left my face yet! I celebrated with some pork scratchings and a Bovril, and my adopted-Wolves-fan wife and I popped a bottle of nice champagne my boss gave me for Christmas.

"I had been waiting for a suitable occasion, and they don’t get much more important than this!

"The football has been spectacular!

"We clearly signed several superb players and a talented manager, but one of my concerns was always whether they could adapt to the Championship, and how long it would take them to settle as a team.

"To say they hit their stride quickly would be an understatement! I always had faith in Fosun’s vision, but being so successful in such spectacular fashion was way beyond what I expected!"
