Alton Towers log flume boats up for sale

But now the boats used at Alton Towers famous log flume could be used for dog baths and plant tubs.

A total of 30 of the individual flume boats are going up for auction today along with ride signage and the ride’s former height board.

It follows the closure of the ride, which opened at the theme park in 1981.

At the time of opening it was the longest log flume attraction in the world.

The ride is to be replaced by Secret Weapon 8, which will open next year.

Money raised from the auction, which will be on eBay, will go toward the theme park owner's charity Magic Wand.

It helps disabled and disadvantaged people around the world.

Bidding on all items will start at 99p.

Other potential uses for the log flume boats include an emergency sledge, children's ball pool, trailer or storage unit, fish pond or barbecue.
