Elderly man and woman taken to hospital after car hits wall near Bridgnorth
An elderly man and woman were taken to hospital today after their car crashed into a wall near Bridgnorth.
The incident happened in Daddlebrook Road, Alveley, at about 2pm.
Paramedics treated the pair and after the man was was cut free by firefighters they were both taken to Russell's Hall hospital in Dudley.
The woman was treated for a chest injury while the man had a head injury and suffered a slightly reduced level of conciousness.
The man was driving the vehicle. He was was cut free from the vehicle by Shropshire Fire and Rescue.
Jamie Arrowsmith, spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "At 2.03pm we were called to Daddlebrook Road to reports of a collision involving a car that's driven into a wall.
"Two ambulance attended and the patients, a man and a woman, were treated by paramedics.
"A woman was treated for a chest injury and the man treated for a slightly reduced level of conciousness. Both are elderly patients."
West Mercia Police were also at the scene.
Drivers faced delays along the route.
