The driver was left with minor injuries after the crash, which happened just before 8am between junctions 5 and 6 for Brownhills.

An air ambulance was scrambled to reports the vehicle had repeatedly rolled over before coming to rest on its roof.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The driver, a man in his 50s, was out of the vehicle and fully conscious.

“He was assessed by ambulance crews and treated for minor neck and knee injuries before being taken to Walsall Manor Hospital by land ambulance.

“Considering the van has rolled on a motorway at one of the busiest times of the day, the man appears to be incredibly fortunate to have avoided serious injury and to have avoided colliding with any other vehicles.”
