Stafford Road in Wolverhampton shut after crash
A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with suspected back injuries after a crash involving a car in Wolverhampton.
The crash took place on the A449 Stafford Road, at the junction of Bushbury Lane at around 9.24am today.
The motorcyclist, aged in his 20s, was treated at the scene for a suspected fractured arm and was later immobilised and taken to New Cross Hospital after complaining of back pain.
A further patient, the driver of the car, was treated for shock at the scene and discharged by paramedics.
West Midlands Ambulance Service sent two ambulances to the scene of the crash.
Police and fire crews also attended. Motorists faced delays as police shut the road between Bushbury Lane to Gorsebrook Road island.
The ambulance service left the scene at 10.18am. The road was re-opened shortly afterwards.
A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "We were called by police to the scene at 9.34am to an road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a private vehicle.
"Two crews attended, one from Wolverhampton and one from Fallings Park.
"A total of seven fire fighters were on the scene. Two patients were treated by paramedics and one was taken to hospital.
"Our appliances became available again at 10.10am."
