Pheasey Park Farm Primary School Children’s Centre caters for pupils aged 0-5 and runs alongside Pheasey Park Farm Primary School.

The school caters for nearly 700 pupils and the Children’s Centre has around 350 on the roll.

Inspectors visited earlier this month and looked at leadership, quality of teaching, personal development and outcomes.

They praised the centre for their 'highly skilled activities' that cater well for children's individual learning needs.

The report said: "Staff are highly skilled and provide activities that cater well for children’s individual learning needs.

"Children are happy in the nursery and demonstrate by their behaviour that they feel emotionally secure.

"Arrangements for safeguarding are effective and children’s good health is promoted well.

"All groups of pupils make good progress from their starting points and are well prepared for the next stage in their learning."

Head teacher Sally Lanni had previously worked at Villiers Primary School in Wolverhampton which become outstanding under her leadership.

She was appointed by governors at Pheasey Park Farm because of her previous successes.

Mrs Lanni said: "Our Staff have worked tremendously hard to make rapid and sustainable improvements at our School and Children’s Centre.

"In May 2016 inspectors noted that Pheasey Park Farm School ‘has a strong drive towards excellence’.

"The inspector said that if we continue at the same rate of progress we should be outstanding at our next inspection.

"I am proud of our children and their standards and behaviour and I would like to thank the pupils, parents, governors and staff for their support in making this happen."

Pheasey Park Farm Primary School is situated on the edge of Birmingham, close to Barr Beacon Regional park.

The building is spacious and pupils have access to a wide range of facilities including their very own Swimming Pool and one of the only SMART Collaborative classrooms in the UK - another feature which was praised by inspectors.

The School is also accredited as a Training School with Edge Hill University and provides Maths training for schools across Walsall and Staffordshire.
