The striker, who now plays for Premier League Watford, was involved in an incident at Levana Bar on Saturday night.

It came hours after he had played for his club against Manchester United, game his side lost 2-0.

Video footage from the bar in The Arcadian Centre, Hurst Street, reportedly showed a police woman holding up pepper spray at Deeney, who also used to play for Halesowen Town.

The 28 year old was reportedly removed from the venue but no-one was injured in the incident.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said an investigation had been launched after a man reported an assault that happened on Ladywell Walk, Birmingham, over the weekend.

"Officers came across a 19 year old who was treated for a minor head injury at around 3.15am," the spokesman said.

"In trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the assault a number of people were spoken to at the scene.

"No arrests were made and enquiries are on-going."
