A schoolboy was rescued from Walsall Canal after falling through ice this morning.
The incident happened at around 8.15am at the Waterfront area outside the New Art Gallery and Premier Inn.
A worker from nearby WHG helped fish the boy, thought to be around 11 years old, out of the water.
He was then taken to the restaurant area of Premier Inn, before being transferred to Walsall Manor Hospital although his condition was not thought to be serious.
A spokeswoman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 8.15am to a report of a boy who had fallen into the water through ice.
"When we got there the boy was in the restaurant of the hotel.
"One ambulance attended and we took him to Walsall Manor Hospital.
