One peanut, two peanuts, three peanuts, four....

These bold grey squirrels showed they were not scared to get their dinner.

The pair ate from the hand of Mantas Kaupas on the circular paved walkway at West Park in Wolverhampton.

Mr Kaupas, who first uploaded a video of the feeding on YouTube, suggested the squirrels have been well fed, judging by their size.

The five-minute clip first shows the squirrels tamely coming up to Mr Kaupas to eat from his hand.

It then shows him lay out more than a dozen peanuts on the pavement before the hungry squirrels returned.

Mark Tidmarsh, a member of the Friends of West Park charity, said that visitors often fed the squirrels.

He said: "Yes, they are well fed.

"They sure aren't afraid to come up to you if they think you have some peanuts in your pocket.

"But then they have to keep on their toes if there is a dog about, so they can't get too overweight."

The Friends of West Park group is a charity group raising funds to carry out projects to help maintain and look after the park as well as organising activities and events for the local community and users of the park.
