The club, who play at Evans Park have replaced their previous natural grass pitch, that was prone to waterlogging and subsequent cancellation of weekly league fixtures, with a brand new 3G playing surface that can be used all-year-round.

Upgrades to the car park have also been made, improving spectator access to and from the ground.

Through this project, on-site sports participation is set to rise by 320 per cent, with Stafford Town FC, who currently play in Division One of the Midland Football League, expected to create 16 new teams as a result.

The £700,000 project was made possible thanks to a £536,944 grant from the Premier League and The FA Facilities Fund and was in partnership with Stafford Borough Council.

Since 2000, the Football Foundation Funding Partners' investment has provided 199 grants worth £17m towards grassroots sports projects worth over £33m across the whole of Staffordshire.

Founded in 2000, the Football Foundation is the largest sports charity in the UK funded by the Premier League, The FA and Government, via Sport England.

It funds the development of new and refurbished grassroots sports facilities to improve the quality and experience of grassroots sport.
