House hunters can take the cheap route onto the property ladder at the auction at Villa Park next Thursday - though some are certainly builders' projects.

Some are fire-damaged, boarded up or incomplete, whereas some are more complete.

The properties are being sold by Birmingham-based auctioneers SDL Bigwood, with homes from Middlesbrough and Liverpool also up for auction.

Among them are this one in Lewis Street, Great Bridge, a spacious three-bedroom end terrace property which is up for grabs for just £45,000.

A three-bedroom end of terrace property in Providence Lane, Walsall could provide a tasty bargain for between £44,000 and £49,000.

The home in the Leamore area of the town has plenty of amenities located close by, and sits in between Green Lane and the B4210 for quick access into Walsall town centre and the Black Country Route.

It boasts a hall, reception room, kitchen and downstairs bathroom on the ground floor, and a landing and three bedrooms upstairs.

There is a garden to the rear and a small yard at the front.

In Parkfields Road, Wolverhampton, £43,000 to £48,000 could bag you a cut-price two-bedroom terraced home.

The property, handily located near the Birmingham New Road for commuting, features a lounge and dining room/kitchen on the ground floor, and a landing, two bedrooms and a bathroom/WC on the first floor.

There is a small paved frontage and also a rear garden.

SDL Bigwood says houses are going up for auction with such cheap prices to encourage more buyers to bid on them.

A spokeswoman said: "There are lots of different properties in various conditions.

Quite often the houses need a bit of refurbishment or considerable refurbishment.

We advise bidders to have a price in mind before they start. We've had plenty of interest in this auction so far and viewings are going well."

The auction will commence from 11am at Villa Park's Holte Suite.
